Make your students’ visit a day to remember! Enquire about our school-based programs held by the Australian Age of Dinosaurs Museum of Natural History.



OUR EDUCATION TOUR (allow 2.5 - 3 hours) - $25.00 pp* | Top 

See the largest Australian dinosaur fossil collection in the world! Take a guided tour through our working Fossil Preparation Laboratory and Reception Centre Collection Room and Dinosaur Canyon. 


  • the Laboratory where students learn how we find dinosaurs, how we dig up their gigantic bones and how we clean away the rock they have been entombed in for 95 million years
  • the Collection Room where the only known holotype specimens of Australovenator wintonensis (Banjo) and Diamantinasaurus matildae (Matilda) are housed; Banjo and Matilda are two of Australia's most complete dinosaurs.
  • a guided tour of the Museum's latest attraction, Dinosaur Canyon! Travel 2km beyond the current Reception Centre to a spectacular part of The Jump-Up where life-sized dinosaur exhibits cast in bronze sit amongst a prehistoric landscape. Dinosaur Canyon is the Museum's latest tour offering and includes an interpretation of Australian natural history (from June 2017) 


JUNIOR PALAEONTOLOGIST TOUR (allow 4 to 4.5 hours) - $50.00 pp* | Top 


  • the Education Tour (as described above) and a flat 500m walk along the top of The Jump-Up 
  • two of the four programs listed below:


   Prep-A-Dino using air tools, students will chisel through rock to reveal dinosaur bones that have not seen the light of day for 95 million years

   Mould-A-Dino using the Museum's secret recipe, students are able to mould their own souvenir Banjo Claw

   Dig-A-Dino time to get busy finding and discovering Matilda's leg bones at our very own on site dig site!

   Geological timeline peer back in time to the beginning of life on earth using the Museum's interactive geological timeline (suitable for secondary school students)
