Outback Queensland Education Information
The Tourism & Events Queensland website provides information and ideas for visiting Australian Age of Dinosaurs Museum and the surrounding region. This Education Handbook is a great resource for teachers, providing travel and safety information and detailing Outback Queensland education products and itinerary options.
The Outback Queensland Education Subsidy Scheme was established in 2011 to encourage teachers to take their students to Outback Queensland, which offers lots of educational opportunities within the Australian and Queensland curricular requirements. This subsidy allows teachers and students to travel to Outback Queensland to enjoy the richness of the destinations and experience Outback life on the land.
The subsidy is available upon application to schools taking students in grades 5, 6, 7 or 8 on a school excursion within the boundary of Outback Queensland, which is defined as the local government areas of Flinders, Richmond, McKinlay, Cloncurry, Mount Isa, Barcaldine, Blackall-Tambo, Longreach, Winton, Barcoo, Boulia, Diamantina, Murweh, Paroo, Quilpie, Bulloo, Croydon, Etheridge, Burke and Carpentaria.
