Description
Footprints assigned to Garbina represent a thyreophoran (an armoured dinosaur). The best trackway consists of relatively small (roughly 20cm x 21cm), four-toed forefoot imprints with larger (35cm x 52cm) three-toed hind foot imprints.

Garbina was the first Australian quadrupedal ornithischian ichnotaxon to be scientifically named. However, a footprint representing quadrupedal ornithischians from Australia has been known to science since the 1960s. Indeed, this footprint from southeast Queensland, which is Jurassic in age, was assigned to cf. Garbina by Anthony Romilio and colleagues in 2020.

The Garbina footprints are thought to be from a stegosaur. This is exciting, since body fossils of stegosaurs have never been found in Australia.
