Origin and other locations
Originally named and described by William Antony Swithin Sarjeant in 1998 on the basis of footprints attributed to Iguanodon from the Early Cretaceous of Dorest, England.

Australian use and location
Lark Quarry Conservation Park Qld (Romilio et al. 2014).

Description
In 2014, Anthony Romilio and Steve Salisbury referred the largest trackways at Lark Quarry to Iguanodontipus. This is because they think that these footprints were made by a large ornithopod, rather than a theropod. This idea was discredited by Thulborn, and later by White and colleagues, and overwhelming evidence still supports the interpretation that the large trackways at Lark Quarry were indeed made by a theropod. Thus, this name should no longer be used in reference to any footprints from Lark Quarry.
