Information about accessing the Australian Age of Dinosaurs Museum of Natural History. 


Accessible parking spaces for visitors who have a mobility impairment and the required permit are available in the main Museum carpark. Coaches are welcome to park closer to the Museum while guests depart, before parking at the rear of the carpark.

The Reception Centre and Dinosaur Canyon are accessible by wheelchair and fitted with ramp access. The Fossil Preparation Laboratory is all level and accessible. The Museum walking track is flat and gravelled but could prove difficult to move over without assistance. Driving between buildings is recommended. 


Unisex accessible toilets, baby change tables and an ambulant toilet are available at the Reception Centre and Dinosaur Canyon Outpost. 

Braille, large print and tactile guides

Versions of the Discovery Guide and Map for adults and children are available at the Reception Centre. The guide includes a link to the Museum's free audio guide

Assistance animals

Trained, registered and visibly identified assistance animals are welcome when accompanied by their handler.

Sensory bags with visual cards can be borrowed from the Reception Centre or downloaded in advance. These visual aids are split into communication, reminder and Museum-specific cards. 

Guided tours and activities

The Museum offers a range of tours and activities. To avoid queues during the school holidays we recommend purchasing your tickets online prior to your visit. 

We recognise the Queensland Government's Companion Card program. Adults with a Companion Card pay concession price and children with a Companion Card receive a 10% discount. Carers and companions receive free admission.

Cretaceous Café

The Cretaceous Café is in the Reception Centre and open from 9am to 4.30pm. The Café has a range of simple food and drinks available including pies, sandwiches, muffins, coffee and cold drinks. Prepare for your visit by reading the Cretaceous Café pictorial menu.


We offer a free Wi-Fi service for public use. This free Wi-Fi service is available to all visitors who have a Wi-Fi enabled device. To connect to the service search your Wi-Fi networks then select 'Prehistoric FREE network'. Wi-Fi coverage is available across the entire site.
